Starting prices cover parts and labor, before Washington sales tax.

Not sure which repair you need? Match the symptom first.

How do the posted starting prices work?

Each card shows a from price: the starting figure for that repair on an ordinary house door, with the part and the labor in one number. Washington sales tax is then figured on the whole bill at the rate where you live.

Your door can sit above that figure. A heavier or wider door takes larger springs and longer cables, high-cycle steel adds to the spring, and a worn drum or bracket found at the door becomes a line of its own.

Nothing past the starting price happens without your yes. We name the change and what it adds, you decide, and only then does the work go on.

What actually lifts a garage door?

Springs lift a garage door, and the opener only steers it. Torsion springs wound around a shaft over the door, or two extension springs running beside the tracks, offset its weight, and the lift cables carry that pull to the bottom brackets.

That is why springs and cables come first on this list. When the lift is off, the rest of the door pays for it: an opener labors and wears its gear against a tired spring, and a frayed cable lets one side drop and twists the door in its tracks.

So a visit for an opener, rollers or track starts with a balance check. Disconnected from the opener and lifted halfway, a balanced door stays where it is left; one that sinks or climbs needs its springs looked at, or a new opener or roller set wears out the same way.

Questions about picking a repair

Which repair page fits my garage door if I cannot tell which part failed?

Start from the symptom, and the troubleshooting pages lead you to the repair. Each symptom page ranks its likely causes and links every cause to the service that fixes it. If the signs still point two ways, describe the symptom or text a photo when you book; we name the part at the door and match it to its line on the price list before any work.

What happens if the visit shows a different part failed than the repair I booked?

We repair what actually failed, once you have seen it and approved its own posted line. A call booked as an opener fault can turn out to be a broken spring, and a spring call can turn up a cable off its drum. The technician shows you the part, names the service it falls under and its starting price, and the booking label never decides the work.

Does the technician bring the garage door part, or does it have to be ordered?

Spring, cable, roller and photo eye parts are matched from your description or photo, so they can come on the first visit. Door sections and new doors are ordered to the make, model and size of your door, so those jobs start with a measurement and finish on a return visit. If the door needs something that did not come along, you hear where it comes from and when it can be fitted.

Can one visit take care of several small garage door jobs at once?

Yes, list them all when you book, and each one gets its own price before work starts. A spring visit is a sensible time to swap worn rollers, replace a split bottom seal or pair a new remote, since the technician is already balancing and testing the door. You approve each added job separately, and any of them can wait for another day.

Want a price before anyone drives over?

Call and describe what the door is doing, or text a photo of the door and the spring above it. You hear the likely repair and where its price starts, then decide.
